ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a 56 year old family physician with an even longer history of being a photographer. For most of my life it has been entirely black and white landscape photography but with the switch to digital, I have become more and more interested in colour work and have become more abstract in the kind of work I do, developing a stronger personal style and expanding my interest to include new subjects.
For me it's all about creating a photograph. There are lots of photographers who shoot the grand landscape in dramatic light. I prefer to take the raw material in nature or in structures and use them to make an image. If in doing so I am able to show you something you have previously ignored, or not thought interesting until I showed it to you, I have achieved my goal
